Rules & Regulations

We request you to kindly go through the rules and regulations before participating in the event.

  • All players should shake hand before start of the game. No practice shots during the board (can try them in between the boards). Use of either hand is allowed. Thumb shot allowed with the mutually agreed with the opponent, if not agreed then will toss accordingly decide Moving of chair, cutting the ball on striking line or arrow besides it would be treated foul. Moreover, elbow must not cut the diagonal of the board. One cannot touch opponent’s coin(s) without touching queen or one’s coin in the same shot. To take queen at least one coin of that player/team has to be pocketed. If queen is taken without pocketing a single coin, queen will be placed back on the board and will result in loss of turn. Queen will need a cover to follow in same or next shot. When single due occurs, one coin of the player who has pocketed the striker has to be put back on the board as a penalty. There will also be loss of turn. If double due happens then two coins will be put back on board of the player who has committed the due. The player shall continue to play. If single due happens while attempting the cover for the queen, one coin will be put back on board along with the queen and the player will lose the turn. If a double due happens while pocketing the queen, queen and one coin will be back on board and the player shall continue to play. If a double due happens while attempting cover for the queen, two coins will be put back on the board and cover has to be taken again. The player shall continue to play. If the player succeeds in taking the cover, the queen is out of the game. Otherwise, the queen has to be put back in the game. At any point of time, if a coin needs to be put back on board due to penalty and it is not available, a coin would be put back whenever it becomes available. Any foul will result in one coin penalty. Referee’s decision would be final.
